After spending too many years of my career in banking, corporate banking and accounting for a Fortune 100 company, in addition to pivoting into real estate, my life forever changed in 2019, when my wife, Amy, and I moved from Peoria, Illinois to Hendersonville, Tennessee. Always having a desire to dive deeper into my creative side, our relocation to Hendersonville created the opportunity of a lifetime thus, Dust It Off Designs by Brian was born. 

Our move here brought attention to the fact that some of our furniture just did not work in our new home setting. As a result, I was able to rework a lot of our personal pieces, including some family treasures, to be more functional and in a style that was more in line with our taste – actually transforming them into new, modern pieces that were part of the old but completely “dusted” and new, creating a feeling like they were now, completely ours.

We like to help do the same for our clients! So, we search for pieces of furniture to reimagine. Our store consists of both “Dusty” (usually untouched, original pieces) and “Dusted and Done” (reimagined, new life) inventory.  This journey has also created the additional opportunity where our clients entrust us to take their own piece of furniture, usually with sentimental value, that is beautiful in its own right but does not functionally work in their design style today. We come in, collaborate and find the best use for the piece – reimagined, modernized and renewed – creating a new heirloom to be loved for many more years to come.
